I woke up by the beam of sunshine coming from my opened window making me rub my eyes. I took a glance at the clock and it was 6:34. I remembered the mission we were supposed to do which the girls and I aren't really excited about. Unlike the other missions we had in the past which were all really cool, this one would need extra effort for we will be acting like the complete opposite of us (making it totally hard).

I turned my head to my right to see Rosé unnie still sleeping. I tiptoed my way to the bathroom and started taking a bath. I twisted the tap to the left to make the water a bit warmer. I closed my eyes as I felt water flowing down my body. I started adding shampoo in my hair then scrubbed the soap all over. I washed myself for the last time and then took the towel that was hung behind the curtains. I haven't thought of a name that I can call myself — fake name to be specific.

The students shouldn't know our real names. If they’ll do, then we'd be in big trouble. I wrapped the pink towel around my small body and proceeded in blow-drying my newly dyed hair. I had lighter blonde the last time but now, I chose a darker kind of blonde.

I went to my wardrobe and looked for an outfit to wear. Gosh, I can't choose any of my favorite styles. After a few minutes of dragging off and returning several stuff in my closet, I placed on a pair of black ripped shorts, a white hoodie and my Gucci shoes. I have lost most of my shoes and found it all inside Jennie unnie's shoe rack. I placed on my glasses (I picked my round, gold-rimmed glasses to match my mood today) and took a glance at myself in the mirror.

I was deciding if my hair will stay straight or should I curl it a bit when a sudden pair of hands started taking all my hair and I looked at the mirror to see who it was. Revealing a smiling unnie was all I saw making me smile too.

"You always straighten your hair or curl it. You need a new hairstyle Miss Manoban," she muttered as she took a ponytail and left some baby hair on the sides of my face with my bangs of course. She did a high one and then curled it a bit to make it look like it's messy.

"Tadaa!" she exclaimed as she shakes her hands like I was some kind of a presentation or something. I laughed at her cuteness and took a glance at myself in the mirror.

"You look beautiful, Lisa." She patted my shoulder making me look down.

"Look at my shy, Lali." She paused so that she can pinch my cheeks like I was still a baby. "You're so cuteee!" She muttered as she then ruffled my hair making me pout.

"Unnie, it's 7:03 already. Why won't you grab your butt and head to the bathroom. You don--" Before I knew she was listening, I found her rushing to the bathroom with her towel hung on her shoulder already.

"What an idiot!" I muttered in English.

"I heard that!" Rosé unnie yelled from inside the bathroom making me laugh at her silliness. Rosé unnie can hear well, not the normal hearing but she can hear more than the mundane. While my Jennie unnie can sense that things will happen. She can predict something and it would end up happening. Jisoo unnie has eyes like a hawk. She can see the littlest details when it comes to things or what. I am the quickest one. I have fast reflexes and I can hide almost everywhere I want. I'm pretty good in everything — well that's what my unnies and my manager said but all I know is that I'm just a shooter, a fighter that's acting like a strange, mysterious girl in a school that I'll be attending soon.

I headed downstairs following the smell of bacon coming from the kitchen. I closed my eyes just to be greeted by a surprise. "Boo!" A familiar voice yelled from behind me.

"Ahhhh!" I jumped in surprise and ended up falling on the floor with my heartbeat raising. All I heard were laughs and stuff. I looked up to see Jisoo unnie laughing her ass out.

"Yah! It ain't funny!" I exclaimed in English receiving a louder laugh from her.

"You should've seen your face, Lalice," she claimed between laughs.

"At least I can speak in English not like you who make me cringe whenever you speak the language." I muttered in a low voice so she won't kill me but the future made it otherwise.

"Yah! I heard that!" She then stopped laughing and started shooting glares at me, telling me that I still have five seconds to get away from her before she attacks.

I was about to run but a voice came calling from the kitchen. "Gurllllsss breakkfassstttt isss reeaaddyyyy!" Jennie unnie's voice was loud and clear but Jisoo unnie attacked making me run afterwards. We ended up running around the kitchen with a Jisoo unnie chasing me.

"Will you please stop acting like cats and dogs and be mature." Jennie unnie rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms at us, sending glares at me and unnie.

"Goodmo--" Rosé unnie's voice was heard by the door but she was cut off by... I don't know...

"Bacoooonnn!!!!!!" She then shrieked like there was no tomorrow (though as far as I remember, we also had bacon for breakfast yesterday and the day before and a couple of days ago…), running towards her seat making me and Jisoo unnie sit, too.

We all settled down in the dining area eating the breakfast Jennie unnie made whilst chitchatting about what we'd do later at school.

"So what do you want to be like in school? It should be far from your style at least.” Jennie unnie was all business now…

My Family, My Hero

            

    

           Have you ever thought that your family is your hero?

           If yes, you’re absolutely right!

           You know why?

            

           Well, here it is: 

          Our family protects us. They are our guardian. And they do whatever that is they need to do to keep us safe and to ensure that we are happy. They only want to see us smile. Our parents sacrifice a lot for us. It is like, they are about to eat the last piece, but if we tell them we want another bite, they give that last piece to us. They give their all just to provide us a bright future.

           You must also know how special you are to your family. Each one of us should know that by heart. It is not what we do. And it is not what we have done. But it is all about who we are. My parents do not forget to tell us that whether we do good in school or misbehave, win a contest or lose, have high grades or get low scores in a test, they love us anyway.

            Our family knows who we are, inside and out. And yet they love us. So if you are reading this… Oh I mean, after you read this, go give each one of your family a great big hug and a kiss, too, like I did after I let Mama and Dada read my thoughts.

            And after that, sit back, relax and enjoy your family every minute of the day, as long as you are here. And do not forget to begin and end your day with “I LOVE YOU’s”.

Me After You, CMLI

            

            

            Before the CMLI Camp, I was not sure if I can do it. I was scared. I will do something I haven’t done in life, and one of them was being alone for five days, no parents, and no Mama always reminding me to fix my bed, fold my clothes, put my stuff in place or even brush my teeth.

            I was hiding in the shadows. Then I remembered something I have read somewhere, that life is a test. And I accepted the challenge. And I know it wasn’t easy to live by yourself, but you have to try. You just don’t know what could actually happen. Everything we do is a risk. And we have to be strong to take the risk. Or forever be regretful of not taking that big leap.

            Think of reality. Don’t expect that something wrong might happen. Mama always tells me that when you think that something might go wrong, it may actually go wrong. She calls it “self-fulfilling prophecy”. So I stopped worrying. Worry could kill you. It kills the fun. It kills whatever chance you could get to actually learn new stuff.

            Think instead of happy things like: You will learn new things, meet facilitators who will encourage us to explore, have new friends, and much much more. See! 

I know from the start that it will be hard and I might commit some mistakes, which I did. I lost my food stub and fave hat. I forgot my hair conditioner in the bath and was not able to join my last LitMus practice, but I learned from my mistakes. I think I will have a better shot of the future – future camps, I mean.

Last time, I was just an ordinary girl, but right now, after CMLI, I proudly represent a gist of who I really am – I am Gabrielle Yumi B. Josue, more independent, an adventurer, sort of a risk-taker, a CMLIer, confidently ME! 

Adventure High Series. Book 2

Chapter1: Meet Again

“Hey remember me leader of Adventure High? It’s me, Ian and I’m here with my friends Penelope, Gabrielle and lastly Miguel. We’re here to go to the woods because our school announced a camping a while ago so right now we are packing our bags and let’s go wait our friends outside so they can get me. (Beep!)

“Ian come on we’re going to miss the bus!”

“Oops! Sorry guys. Need to go there so I can catch up bye”

“Hey Ian! So what’s up all summer and long-time no see? Have you seen Penelope and Gabrielle?”

“Oh hey Miguel! Uhmm no. I haven’t seen them come on. Let’s go check Penelope’s house.”

“Well, that sounds a great idea. Come on! We have 5 more minutes to catch up the bus.” 

“Oh hey boys! It is me Penelope. Did you miss me?”

“Of course we do!!!”

“Oh I really miss Gabrielle! Oh yeah! Speaking of, Gabrielle where is she?”

“I know. Let’s check the park because she loves spring and all things wonderful.” (Running to the streets)

“Is that her the one who is riding a bicycle because it looks like her?”

“Come on let’s check. Uhmm hello! Gabrielle is that you?”

“Oh hey, guys! Oh I totally miss you. Look, I have my very own pet puppy.”

“Oh hey there, Gabrielle! Oh cute little puppy! Oh I really like the flowers you picked and who is this girl beside you?”

“Oh her? She is Rayna. She is my cousin but the thing that she loves is camping so I brought her in.”

“Oooooohhh hey,  I am Rayna and I am totally in love with camping and last year I was the camp leader at school. I teach them how to survive. And when they succeed, they earn badges to represent their talents. So I brought some badges for our activities at camp. I also brought some marshmallows because they look and taste so good when we are camping. Oooh also fire crackers, my favourite!”

“Oh nice to meet you, Rayna. I am Ian, leader of Adventure High where we have adventures and solve cases.”

Chapter2: Camping Time!!!!!!!!!

“Okay, guys! So there, we all know each other and we are all here. Now it’s time to split up here in the woods and find a wishing well. Okay! Miguel and Penelope and Rayna go left while Gabrielle and I go right, understood?”

The 5 friends were wondering where to find a wishing well later on…

They bumped into each other and saw the well they need to be looking for.

“Uhmmm… Is that the well we all have been looking for?”

“Yep! That’s it Gabrielle. So guys, I hate to say this but JUMP!”

“Wait are you crazy ne-ne-never mind! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait Gabrielle! Oh whatever! Wait for us! Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!”

The 5 friends have fallen down and dropped in different kinds of places like Gabrielle was stuck in a mirror while Miguel was stuck in a beach while Penelope was stuck in a book and Rayna was stuck in a forest and Ian was the one who need to save their lives.

Chapter 3: TeMMiE

“Uhmm hello! Miguel? Penelope? Rayna and Ian, someone in here? Oh no! Someone is coming.”

“Hoi  I’m  TeMMiE!”

“Um hey, um, what can I help you with?”

“TeMMiE is hungry. Come follow TeMMiE to TeMM shop TeMMiE will feed you and take good care of you. Do you want TeMMiE flakes?”

“Of course  I do. Just sad my friends aren’t here.”

“Gabrielle, that’s fine. You are also same as TeMMiE.  TeMMiE lost friends too. Come on! TeMMiE will cheer you up with some yummy TeMMiE flakes.”

Chapter 4: Nyan Cat

“Hello! Someone in here? Why am I stuck in this huge place where I can’t see anyone around me? Wait am I in a Nyan Cat world in a book?”

“Aaaaaaaahhhh! Hello there? Hi! I am Penelope and you are Nyan Cat, am I right?”

“Meow, it is I. Hi Penelope.”

“Oh my gosh! A talking Nyan Cat! I thought you only say NYAN!”

“Nope I only say Nyan in games but not here and nice meeting you. Do you need anything because me, I really need help from you.”

“Oh sure what do you need?”

“Well I am looking for my friend, TEMMiE. But I don’t know where she is and how to get out of here.”

“Oh okay. Ooh, I know. I’ll tell you where to go and where the directions are while you will be the one who is going to be my ride or transportation.”

“Okay. Where do I go from here?”

“Well, go left then right theeennnn… over and under, go up then don’t forget down and we get past the book, now we panic… Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!”

Chapter 5: Lucy the Surf Dog

“Wait am I in the beach? Awesome! But… Aaaaahhhh wait! Did I just see a dog surfing? I cannot believe I am seeing this right now!”

“Arghhh who are you? Well, my name is Lucy, the surfer dog and you are?...”

“Uhmmm… You can talk, too? Oh my gosh! A talking dog! This guy is amazing! By the way, I am Miguel. I love surfing, too and love dogs. Can you help me find my friends? I am really lost right now. All that I can just remember is falling from the sky.”

“Oh, okay. Wait! I know what to do next. Let’s go to the river where you can wish and it will easily come true.”

So the two of them went to the river and after making a wish, they spawned beside Ian.

“Miguel and a dog?!! Really, now? Where have you been? Did you see Gabrielle?”

“Hi Penelope and Nyan Cat and Ian! Nope! I haven’t seen her when we were falling from the sky and the last time she told me was: Aaahhh and I answered back: Aaaahh! Then we both panicked.”  

“Aaaaahhhhhh! Oh! Hey guys! Wait. Where is Gabrielle?”

“Oh hey, Rayna! We don’t know where Gabrielle is but I thought she was with you.”

“Wait if I am not with Gabrielle then where is she? Come on guys! Let’s look for her.”

Chapter 6: Riding a Box to a Rainbow

Meanwhile…

“OH thanks, TeMMiE for the flakes you gave me. Now I am so full so where are we going?”

“TeMMiE will try to bring you back to your friends.  You need to ride my box and I also ride. Then we say the magic word: TeMMiE!”

So the two of them rode the box and went to a rainbow pathway to the friends of Gabrielle. And they were spawned on a tree and saw Gabrielle’s friends but they did not see her yelling and calling them…

But then…

“Wait did you hear something?”

“Um nope! I can’t hear anything. Wait I hear someone calling for help.”

“Yeah me too. I think that is Gabrielle. Wait! Gabrielle is that you?”

“Yes and I am stuck on a tree inside of a box with TeMMiE.”

“Yup that is her!”

“Just wait. We are going to get you with your friend there.”

So the friends helped Gabrielle and TeMMiE  get out of the tree and the box and went for a picnic.

“How is your adventure there?”

“Well kind of fun and we also rode a box so we can go to the rainbow pathway and TeMMiE fed me some TeMMiE  flakes and that was so yummy and it was the best flakes ever.”

Epilogue

“And that was our second adventure and  Adventure High was just written at school where my classmates and I were grouped into 4, I think, or 5, but my group was composed of Ian, Summer, Miguel and myself, Gabrielle. We were asked to write a story so I came up with this. We wrote it together and we enjoyed so I came up with a sequel of this and made it here inside of my house and that was the history of Adventure High. Hope you liked it and see you again next week for another exciting story or sequel of any of my short stories. I really do hope to publish one of my stories pretty soon…
